Honda Celebrates ENERGY STAR Certification in Three Plants

Are you familiar with the term, “ENERGY STAR,” as it relates to businesses? The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issues the certification to businesses whose practices are considered “green” and more environmentally friendly on different levels.

Businesses must prove that they have completed various steps and processes which lead to certification. There are eight main steps which include creating a team and energy performance goal, using ENERGY STAR tools to evaluate, creating an energy efficient design and completing the ENERGY STAR lifecycle, among others.

Honda is proud that for the 10th year in a row, two of its automobile manufacturing plants in Ohio have received the ENERGY STAR certification. Additionally, Honda Manufacturing of Indiana LLC, achieved the same status for the fourth time.

“Blue Skies for our Children,” is a Honda initiative that is working to create advanced technologies in the areas of environmental and energy concerns.
